Become a Foster Parent Today

  1. Attend a Foster Care Information Session
  2. Apply to be a Foster Parent
  3. Complete the Schenectady County Foster Care Training Program

Am I Eligible to be a Foster Parent? 

  • At least 21 years old
  • Married, single, or living with a partner
  • Have sufficient income to meet your own family's needs
  • Can provide each child with their own bed
  • Can successfully complete a background check

 

 

After you attend a Foster Care Information Session and apply to be a foster parent, you must sign up, attend, and complete a series of required trainings.
